Charity shops are having a renaissance and where better to have a rummage for a bargain than in London town. We’ve scoured the finest charity shops North, East, West and South London have to offer for our latest feature. Say hello to the best London charity shops.

 

1. Oxfam

This branch of Oxfam has a deal with Urban Outfitters and sells on their unsold stock. At a fraction of the price you will pay in the UO store, this is definitely worth a visit.

2.  Salvation Army

There’s a bit of everything here, but being situated next to London College of Fashion, you will need to be quick to bag a bargain before the students.

3. Oxfam Hampstead

One of the advantages of charity shops in well-healed areas is the array of high quality clobber.  We’ve also found this Oxfam has a great book section.

4. British Red Cross

Chelsea locals giving away their unwanted Manolo’s and designer frocks…don’t mind if we do!

5. Traid

This Traid flagship  boasts an award winning in-house recycled fashion label ‘TRAIDremade’. A favourite amongst fashion stylists.

6. Crusaid

A favourite of comedian Alan Carr, this charity shop has a dedicated gay section, vinyl, CD’s, books and clothes to peruse.

7. Octavia Foundation

A haven for vintage book lovers, coffee tables full of old art periodicals, Christie novels. You may even pick up a vintage piece from the locals too.

8. Trinity Hospice

This one is best for shoes and bags, all displayed in an extremely well organised shop, there will be no need for frantic rummaging at this one.

9. Barnardo’s

You will find lots of high street finds here, with designer pieces thrown in between in this huge Brixton store. A varied mix in this lively, friendly shop.

Nestled safely away from oxford street, this two floor store will have everything from men’s suits to shoes and women’s designer finds.
