There was no Saturday lie-in to be had this morning; London Fashion Week day 2 kicked off with DAKS at Somerset House. Fresh-faced models with side-parted, low-slung ponytails, head to toe in whimsical chalky shades were kind to the eye of a somewhat jetlagged, worse for wear audience.
Focus fell on fluid shapes; layers of opaque fabric blended into translucent shapes hung loosely, floated effortlessly down the catwalk.
SS13 sees the revival of DAKS signature trench alongside their traditional parka coat, but both are to return more opulently than ever before, fabricated in silk gazer and translucent nylon.
Leather and straw paired with semi translucent hardware contradicted fine embroidery, crafted by mixed media textile designer Aimee Betts.
As the show progressed it became clear that the DAKS woman of SS13 is not only one of the most elegant but one of the most iconic next season.
