Holly Fulton is one of London Fashion Week’s hottest tickets, and this season was no different. Editors, buyers and celebrities alike all crammed into Mercer Studios with a cool drink in hand to see the type of woman Fulton had imagined for SS13.
Fulton’s muse and inspiration, sixties skateboarder Peggy McGee, rendered the collection relaxed luxe; airtex and sweatshirting were paired against signature printed silks and chalky palette leathers.
With their hair in loose, messy plaits, models paraded dresses, separates and crop tops, all of which were appliquéd with roses across the chest, trawling up a sleeve or down a leg.
Whilst her collections are often appreciated as works of art, Fulton took a new direction this time around. SS13 is her most wearable season to date; there’s no doubt that every woman in the room would have favoured the pieces walking off the catwalk straight into their wardrobe.
