Antoni & Alison’s quirky collection, the aptly named ‘Models walking up and down in dresses’, bought fashion and fun together for autumn/winter 2012.
Described as ‘the thinker and the doers’ of fashion, the designer pair created a collection of kooky but wearable dresses, that were loose but ladylike. However, the crazy elements were balanced by soft, drab colours and large tweed prints, using technological advances in fashion to make one material look like something else altogether. The clever technique was particularly successful in making a thin silk skirt look like it was covered in gold sequins and glittering in the light – certainly saves all that time in hand embellishing!
The clothes were left to do the talking as models walked with near-natural make-up, clean pixie crop hair and simple black court shoes, so not to distract from the unique creations.
