For autumn/winter 2012 Giles Deacon tore, well, burnt fashion a new one, by taking classically beautiful gowns and corrupting them with rips and burn marks.
Held in the historic Stationer’s Hall, the collection mirrored the venue in style and romanticism. Soft, fairytale gowns took us back to the renaissance, whilst the glittering brown cigarette marks reminded us that we were firmly in 2012. But hey, we can dream.
Paired with the girly gowns were Giles’ signature slick tuxedos, left untouched by the dirt but paired with wacky Stephen Jones headpieces to add a bit of crazy – because what would a Giles collection be without that modern, slightly odd edge?
