London Fashion Week: Temperley London Spring/Summer 2013

It might have started almost half an hour late, but Temperley London’s SS13 show ‘Return to Elegance’ was well worth the wait.

Held in the majestic surroundings of the Grand Connaught Rooms, the collection oozed beauty; in fabric, which was a mixture of ridged silk, cashmere and satin-striped organza, and in form by using digitally decorative prints and engineered silk-jacquards. Tones were simple; black met white with injections of lilac running throughout the lineup.

Shapes were classic, structured and flattering. Timeless separates and contoured dresses were modernised by transparency and geometric lines.

“I like to work with a timeless mixture of contrasting influences,” Temperley explained. “I had visions of a late 1950’s couture model or a young Sophia Loren, but also modernising the Temperley Woman, making her uncomplicated and effortlessly beautiful.” We can’t wait to see which modern-day starlets wear the collection when it hits stores in a few months time.
