Burberry has cast actress Gabriella Wilde and musician Roo Panes for their Autumn/Winter 2012 campaign. The pair, shot by Mario Testino at London’s Greenwich’s Royal Naval College, will replace model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne and Eddie Redmayne.
“We wanted to play with everything that’s at the heart of the Burberry world – celebrating our brand and London through imagery, film, music, weather and our iconic outerwear, all in a very poetic and British way,” said Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative officer. “Using London as the backdrop, we shot the series of cinematic, emotive black and white images and short films with the incredibly talented Gabriella Wilde and Roo Panes, who effortlessly bring the campaign and our collections to life across all of our platforms.”
The campaign goes live on 1st June and will also focus on Burberry’s British heritage in a bid to capitalise on upcoming major British events such as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the London 2012 Olympics.
