Lady Gaga has entrusted Giorgio Armani with the task of creating her costumes for the ’Born This Way Ball’ tour, which kicks off in less than a week.
The outfits, are typically Gaga, featuring lots and lots of PVC, spikes, studs and strategically placed instruments. Early sketches from Giorgio Armani give fans a taste of what to expect, including a long, dusty pink mesh gown, similar to the outfit seen in the opening scene of her Born This Way video.
This isn’t the first project Armani and Lady Gaga have worked on together, after creating a series of custom made red carpet gowns for the American superstar, the designer also produced costumes for her first tour, ‘The Monster Ball’.
Speaking about the project, Giorgio Armani said: “Collaborating with Lady Gaga is always an exciting experience for me. I admire the way she uses fashion as a scenic element and as a means to build a character. She is an artist of many talents and great intelligence. Creating stage costumes for her is a stimulating and creative exercise.”
