British supermarket Asda, has today unveiled ex-Dior ace John Galliano as chief designer of their ‘George’ clothing range. Galliano who has been on a hiatus since being dismissed by Dior is set to revamp the famous ‘George’ line with three new capsule collections called ‘John’, ‘Paul’ and ‘Ringo’.

The Asda ‘George’ range which is sold across stores in the UK, United States, Canada and Japan is worth £1.75 billion to the Walmart owned business and it is hoped the new collections will push sales through the £2 billion pound mark.

The collections will feature reworks of some of his signature pieces, and rumour has it that Galliano has searched through 20 years worth of archives to create the range. Galliano has said that the collections “stay true to the DNA of the John Galliano brand.”

John Galliano for Asda hits stores and online 1st April 2012.
