Food and fashion often cross over  (remember Lady Gaga’s meat dress?) and now a British designer has bought the two together in a more delicate way, by making a dress out of thin sushi seaweed paper.

Central Saint Martin’s graduate George Nemsadze formed the mini dress from nori, the seaweed paper used in sushi, in collaboration with Pan-Asian restaurant Chino Latino to mark London Fashion Week. Using 50 sheets of the pressed seaweed, Nemsadze also used silk-organza panelling and geometric shapes to form a glimmering dress with a tasty twist.

George’s sushi dress will be on display in the lobby of Chino Latino at the Park Plaza Riverbank until September 18.
