Alexander McQueen’s 2010 Resort collection is a world away from the usual gothic look of the brand, being described by creative director Sarah Burton as “romantic utility”. The McQueen summer looks consist of alot of khaki outwear cinched with over-sized belts and paired with lace skirts and cropped trousers.
Part of the collection was made up of low-key evening wear in dark colours with ornate Edwardian-style embellishments and strong solid lines. The signature tailcoat silhouette of the McQueen brand was still evident as jackets were short at the front and extended round the back to give an exaggerated look.
