Covent Garden taken over by giant LEGO snow globe

The LEGO elves sure have been working hard this year. Right in the centre of Covent Garden they’ve created a spectacular giant snow globe, made from 120,000 LEGO bricks, featuring 14 of the most iconic London buildings.

Festive fun-seekers are able to gaze upon sights such as The Shard, Big Ben, The London Eye and Shakespeare’s Globe, all made from LEGO, and at a touch of a button the whole scene becomes even more magical as it’s covered in a blanket of snow.

Those looking for a Christmas challenge are invited to scour the snow globe for LEGO Santa Mini Figures (great practice for spotting the sleigh on Christmas Eve!). The fellow in red is hidden among the cityscape, and visitors who spot the most figures are in with a chance to win LEGO goodies.

LEGO are expert when it comes to creating enchanting Christmas installations; last year they installed the giant advent calendar in Covent Garden, and in 2011 visitors were able to gaze upon the world’s largest LEGO Christmas tree, dominating the Piazza.
