Footwear brand Dune has announced it will be collaborating with Central Saint Martins alumnus Christopher Shannon on an upcoming collection.
The designer graduated from the prestigious college in 2009 with an MA in Menswear and went on to take LC:M by storm, debuting his ‘90s-inspired SS14 collection.
Shannon continues to impress, with his range for Dune showing a different side to the designer; the collection is inspired by footwear shapes he would personally wear, with colours ranging from sporty blues to more classic, formal tones.
Christopher says of the collection: “The project for me was about putting a different slant on the Dune brand without isolating the current customer. Sometimes designer collaborations can be intimidating and I wanted this to feel inclusive and exciting. I wanted to create a new dialogue between the fabrications, textures and finishes, selecting styles that would work as a range and complement each other by cross referencing the details. Ideally you could travel with a few pairs and always have an appropriate choice which is key for a modern man’s wardrobe. The versatility of the styles makes them perfect for the current trend for capsule dressing.”
Available from the first week of March 2014, the collection comprises five shoe designs with prices from £100 to £145.
