Fashion Sunday comes to London’s Oval Space

The Oval Space, a light-filled warehouse-style venue just off the Hackney Road, is to play host to a new retail market as of Sunday June 1st.

Fashion Sunday, created by Tiffany Alwis and Sonia Williams, will bring together hand-picked stallholders that showcase the diversity and richness of London’s fashion scene. With a focus on womenswear and emerging designers, confirmed names include Paper LDN, Draw in the Light, Auria and Emma Shipley. One stall space each month will be given to a start-up for free as a way of supporting fledging talent from the capital.

Co-owner and curator Tiffany Alwis, formerly an intern at Peter Jensen, said of the venture, “There’s a real appetite for independent homegrown fashion and this new platform means we can share these designers’ work with more people.”

Because shoppers will be purchasing directly from the designers themselves, they will enjoy up to 20% off for current-season pieces and even heavier discounts for past season and one-off samples. There will also be food and drink vendors to enjoy, including Pop Up Barbados, Blackbox and cocktail makers Shake Rattle Stir.

Entry to Fashion Sunday (June 1st) will be £3 and will include a complimentary copy of the Fashion Sunday newsletter.
