From this Saturday, fans of Preen will be able to dress their trendy tots in mini-me versions of their favourite pieces, as the brand launches its kidswear range in Selfridges.
Lovers of the brand have had a long wait for the range, as it was originally announced back in 2010. The collection for mini fashionistas includes floral prints from the label’s mainline Resort 2014 collection, which appear on shirt dresses, hoodies and skirts. Little ones can also choose from cocoon coats and powder-blue pleated skirts, with the prices ranging from £70 to £295.
Explaining the inspiration behind the collection, Justin Thornton, one half of the designer duo, said: “We have two daughters – one-year-old Blythe and Fauve, who’s five – and we just wanted to shrink our adult clothing down to mini versions.”
Thea Bregazzi, the other half of the brains behind the brand, said: “We just love seeing well-dressed happy children, so to see little girls in our designs will be amazing.”
Jessica King, childrenswear buyer for Selfridges, said, “The collection is beautiful due to its matching womenswear and childrenswear element however the items also have a strong and recognisable aesthetic on their own.”
Preen eyewear will also launch in stores next month as will its debut footwear line in autumn/winter 14.
