Ethical cult-favourite sneaker brand Cariuma has launched its latest artist collab.
Featuring Katsushika Hokusai’s iconic “the Great Wave” (Under the Wave off Kanagawa), the new collab includes an OCA, a Slip-On, and a Naioca, all RRP £89.
Cariuma creates comfortable, sustainable and timeless shoes loved by A-listers including Dame Helen Mirren, Ashton Kutcher, Alexandra Daddario, Chris Martin, Robert Downey Jr., John Hamm and Brooke Shields.
Founded by two ex-industry execs who gave up fast fashion to build the conscious sneaker company, Cariuma is a Best for the World™ B-Corp Certified brand and plants a tree in the Brazilian rainforest for every pair of shoes sold.
Cariuma’s shoes are 100% vegan, and made with natural premium materials.
With a sustainability focus and a love of nature, what better artist collab than Hokusai, the acclaimed Japanese artist whose striking works depict the beauty of our natural world and remind us of our intrinsic connection with our planet and all living things.
The first drop of the new collab is here, but there will also be a further Hokusai instalment later in the year.
This is not the first artist collab for Cariuma, with a past team up with the Van Gogh museum.
Hokusai is known for its landscape drawings and paintings. The Great Wave, one of its most famous work, is at The MFA Boston.
