American footwear brand has launched a new collection of casual shoes, designed and produced in accordance to their “Consciously Created” approach.

The Consciously Created mission cements the brand’s commitment to sustainability by choosing materials that do not impact the environment negatively, removing harmful chemicals from their supply chain, and reducing their overall carbon footprint.

This includes switching to PFC-free water repellent alternatives, introducing biocide-free insoles with Eco Anti-Odour – a naturally occurring probiotic, and using Leather Working Group environmentally-preferred leather and recycled P.E.T plastic in the construction of their footwear.

The KEEN men’s highland shoe is one of the new collections which is consciously constructed using leather sourced from a tannery using practices safe for people and the environment. The shoe utilises a breathable mesh lining and eco anti-odour treatment to ensure feet stay fresh and dry without the use of any harmful or toxic chemicals.

The Highland shoe is priced at £80 and available from keenfootwear.com
