Thames & Hudson is launching a menswear edition of its CATWALK™ series, and Louis Vuitton is first in line. Louis Vuitton Menswear Catwalk arrives on 5 November 2026, priced at £65.
The book documents the house’s men’s collections from Marc Jacobs’ early designs in 1998 through to today’s era under Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams. It is the first title in the publisher’s new menswear strand, and is available to pre-order on Amazon.
What’s inside Louis Vuitton Menswear Catwalk?
The book covers more than 50 collections across 632 pages. Original catwalk photography captures hundreds of silhouettes, along with the details, accessories and set designs behind each show.
The story begins with Louis Vuitton’s first standalone men’s show in January 2001. From there, it follows the wardrobe through every creative chapter, ending with Pharrell Williams’ contemporary take on travel.
In short, it is designed as a definitive reference for fashion professionals and Louis Vuitton collectors alike.
Five designers, one house of travel
Fashion critic Anders Christian Madsen wrote the introduction, the designer biographies and the collection texts. He frames the house’s menswear through the lens of travel, which has defined Louis Vuitton since its first trunk in 1854.
“Visualized through the diverse eyes of five creatively different designers over nearly three decades – Marc Jacobs, Paul Helbers, Kim Jones, Virgil Abloh and Pharrell Williams – the Louis Vuitton men’s realm illustrates how clothing has travelled over borders and evolved into the global wardrobe that binds us together beyond cultures today.” Anders Christian Madsen
Pharrell Williams on designing “a standard”
Pharrell Williams also contributes to the book. He sets out the principles that guide his work at the house.
“Our codes here are very simple: chic, wearable and well-made. I don’t design to fashion, I design a standard. We’re less concerned with making statement pieces and more concerned with designing for humans who zoom in to the details.” Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director
Why Thames & Hudson created the Catwalk series
Adélia Sabatini, Thames & Hudson’s Editorial Director for Fashion, says the series was built as a reference library. Equally, it serves as an archive.
“The project also allowed us to preserve a public record of the Houses’ earliest shows, which, in the Google Images era, were increasingly at risk of becoming forgotten,” she explains. Each title is developed with official access to the house archives.
