The nominations for the BRIT Awards 2012 were announced in London tonight by comedian James Corden and DJ Greg James.
Thirty three years after winning her first BRIT Kate Bush gets a nod in the British female artist category joined by 2011’s best selling artist Adele and face of House of Holland tights Jessie J. 20 year old singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is nominated for one of the Peter Blake designed awards in the best male artist category along with dubstep maestro James Blake and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Festival favourites Chase & Status are joined with Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and Elbow in the British Group category. Mercury award winning PJ Harvey goes up against newbie Ed Sheeran and Florence & The Machine for the BRIT Mastercard British Album of The Year. Lady Gaga and Rihanna go head to head for the International Female Solo Artist with luscious lipped Lana Del Rey making the cut in the International Breakthrough Act category without even releasing an album.
