Hill House Home has officially launched in the UK and with everyone going wild over the nap dress, we thought we’d give you all the info you need to know about the brand.
The brand
Hill House Home was born in the US in 2016. The brand started with selling homeware and bedding, but it has since expanded and gone viral for its nap dress. However, that’s not all they do.
Hill House Home has clothing, accessories, swimwear, baby products and shoes and is a fully-fledged lifestyle brand.
Founder Nell Diamond described the brand to CNN as “happy, feminine and fun. We’re all about bringing joy and happiness to everyday things. Whether it’s brushing your teeth or making your bed, why not make those things happy and joyful?”

The founder
Born and raised in London, founder and CEO Nell Diamond is based in New York, where she started Hill House Home after graduating from business school. The Ivy-League educated mum of three told Forbes: “I launched Hill House because I couldn’t find beautifully designed, well-priced, thoughtfully sourced products for my first real, adult apartment.”

Incubating the brand for 18 months, Nell launched the viral Hill House Home brand with a customer-centric approach. Using Instagram for everything from “asking followers about colour preferences to new product categories,” Hill House was bound to go viral.
Embracing the “many ways to be a woman in the world,” the Hill House girl is everyone. “Some days I wake up and I am excited to look like I stepped off a prairie field and am churning butter, and some days I want to wear all black and feel confident walking into a board room or walking down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.”
The nap dress
It would be impossible to mention Hill House and not talk about the nap dress. The brand’s signature garment may not really be about napping, but it’s so comfortable you could take a nap in it if you wanted to.
Nell told CNN the dress “has this extendable, really practical, comfortable smocking that makes you look great but still has a great design that you feel dressed up and good in.”
The “soft, comfortable, and pretty enough to wear all day and night” dress was a hero garment during Covid, and nobody got over it once the pandemic was over.
When Hill House launched a black nap dress at the beginning of 2021, it sold $1,000,000 worth of inventory in twelve minutes. The nap dress, however, was first launched in 2019, just in time for the pandemic and everyone lounging about at home.
The dress was a hit with its super practical and comfortable design that adapts to a whole range of body types. Plus, it’s next level pretty. So of course, that helped.
The Hill House Home nap dress has become a staple in many women’s wardrobe. So much so that there’s a hashtag for its many followers: #napdressnation.
