Mulberry unveils collaboration with Axel Arigato

Mulberry have joined forces with Swedish lifestyle brand Axel Arigato to launch an exclusive new collection of unisex ready-to-wear bags, footwear and accessories.

Available to purchase now in the brands’ stores worldwide, the limited-edition 35-piece capsule marries Axel Arigato’s effortless Scandinavian minimalism and Mulberry’s timeless British aesthetic, in a “wear-forever collaboration” that celebrates both brands’ shared values of community and engagement with contemporary culture.

Albin Johansson, co-founder at Axel Arigato, said in a statement: “Although founded in Sweden, since its inception Axel Arigato has been particularly welcomed by the UK, and so to launch a collaboration with Mulberry, a brand firmly embedded in British fashion history, feels like a naturally intuitive partnership to roll out.”

With fellow brand co-founder Max Svärdh adding: “It’s an exciting chapter in Axel Arigato’s story to forge a collaboration of this scale with a long-established brand such as Mulberry. Our aim is to bring the youthful, percussive energy which informs our design language by reinterpreting Mulberry’s heritage silhouettes through a unique Scandinavian lens.”

Exploring Mulberry’s unique place in British fashion history, the starting point for the collection saw the luxury label take a deep dive into the Mulberry archives, to explore all of the brands memorable pop culture moments from the past 50 years.

The range of “fashion-forward” leather bags are inspired by three archive Mulberry designs – the Oversized Bayswater, the Maddison and the Westbourne. Each are available in a selection of bold colourways, from vibrant emerald green and bright azure blue to monochrome and classic black.

Split-colour trenches, relaxed-fit denim and embroidered varsity jackets appear in sophisticated, neutral tones, whilst the capsules Axel Arigato’s Area Sneaker, is presented in a silhouette inspired by vintage basketball references.

Featured throughout the capsule is a collaborative badge that combines Mulberry’s tree emblem and Axel Arigato’s insignia, to create a crest that reflects the collaboration’s collegiate and community spirit.

Commenting on the collaboration Mulberry CEO, Thierry Andretta said: “We’re delighted to reveal our collaboration with Axel Arigato, a brand which shares our values of community and creativity. Through Axel Arigato’s innovative and contemporary approach, iconic elements of our Mulberry DNA and archive have been reinterpreted on a collection with sustainability at its core, making this an exciting manifestation of the essence of both our brands.”
