Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) have announced that one of the world’s largest online fashion retailers, SHEIN, will sponsor this years ‘People’s Choice Award’.
Giving power to the people, the award allows the public the opportunity to have their say on their favourite designer from the top 25 GFW collections showcased throughout the course of the 4-day event. With each of the finalists and their collections then available to view on the SHEIN website, the public can vote for their favourite, until voting closes at the end of June.
The eventual winner will be announced on Monday, July 1st.
As well as having the opportunity to showcase their collection at the Graduate Fashion Week Houses of Parliament reception this autumn, the 2019 winner of the People’s Choice Award, will also have the chance to exhibit at London Fashion Week in September before SHEIN then produce a capsule collection of their designs to be sold on their online store.

“Not only are they offering a fantastic internship opportunity, they are offering one design student the chance to create their own capsule collection, which gives the student a great step up into the world of work from education. This is one of our primary aims here at Graduate Fashion Week and so we’re thrilled that SHEIN are partnering with us on this.”
As well as sponsoring GFW’s most prestigious award, SHEIN will also be present throughout the course of the event with a stand in the exhibition space, with representatives from the international e-commerce brand available to receive CV’s / portfolio’s from students, and meet with potential candidates interested in applying for their ‘Design Intern’ position.
The successful applicant will receive a six-week, paid placement at SHEIN’s head office, designing a capsule collection to be sold exclusively online.
Founded in 1991 by Jeff Banks CBE, Vanessa Denza MBE and John Walford, the trio set out to create a stronghold for the creative industry, with the aim to unify both the UK and international universities providing young talent with a global platform to showcase their creative flare, design skills and love of fashion.
Celebrating 28 years of being one of the world’s most important sources of new talent for the design industry, the scheme has launched the careers of Christopher Bailey MBE, Stella McCartney, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Julien Macdonald.
