Natasha Pilbrow is COO and co-founder of on-demand beauty platform LeSalon. Not only does Natasha want to provide a beauty service that clients can easily access and enjoy, she also wants her technicians to be able to work flexibly and safely. Her mission is to use technology to create a platform that allows women to work on their own terms, honing their skills and expanding their client base under a discerning brand associated with high-end and quality treatments.
We caught up with Natasha for the latest in our ‘My London’ interview series.
Favourite neighbourhood:
Definitely Notting Hill – as a result of great memories and happy associations. I lived there in my 20s and early 30s, and always enjoyed the pubs, the market, Goldborne Road and the areas general eclectic vibe.
Favourite place for brunch:
Ottolenghi in Spitalfields. I’m not sure what he does with the scrambled eggs but they are amazing, with sourdough and sour cream! It’s a bigger space than the restaurant in Notting Hill so feels more relaxed if you’re with friends.
Best coffee in London:
I’m a big fan of Monmouth Coffee in Covent Garden. I will travel for good coffee.
Favourite gallery or museum:
Can I venture out of London for this and pick the Getty Centre in LA? It’s a real oasis, with incredible architecture, beautiful gardens and stunning views over the city.
Tell us a secret:
I always ask for my kids’ opinions when I have challenging work situation. Surprisingly often they add some valuable insight.
Favourite place to shop:
I like Portobello on Fridays; and online I go to Matches Fashion, Zara and Cos.
Favourite place to find inspiration:
I find art fairs really inspiring (like Frieze Masters). The combination of the art, the venue, the people watching and often the great food leaves me feeling full of passion for urban living.
Best London destination for a date:
It has to be Petersham Nurseries and then a walk along the river. The combination of incredible food and a beautiful walk creates the perfect afternoon.
Favourite park:
Without a doubt it’s Hyde Park. Again, I have some great memories here.
Favourite food market:
I really enjoy Marylebone Food Market on Sundays. They have lovely fresh produce and lots of little tasters. Plus you can have a sneaky peak around the Conran shop afterwards.
Your sanctuary in the city:
My home. There’s often nowhere else I would prefer to be than at home with my family. It makes it extra special when my girls and I get a pedicure together.
What inspires you?
Mostly other people, when they enable me to see or understand something in a new light.
This season I’m loving:
Anthony Gormley at the Royal Academy of Arts is really incredible. Talk about inspiring.
