A new virtual platform, ‘In a Mayfair Fashion’, led by Bridgerton star Kathryn Drysdale, is inviting visitors to time travel through the iconic London district, superimposing period dress and buildings onto modern-day streets.
QR codes on hotels, townhouses, public spaces, gardens and squares in London’s historic Mayfair will provide access to the experience, which is free to use. On scanning the codes, visitors can access eight augmented reality experiences via a web-based interactive map that will reveal the secrets of fashionable Mayfair’s past.
Kathryn Drysdale, who plays Madame Delacroix in the hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton, narrates the stories of the area’s most fashionable residents from the 18th century.
Highlights of the tour include the Connaught Hotel, where visitors can see what the grand entrance of the hotel looked like when it opened in 1911 and learn about the glamorous parties held there.
For a peek into the high society weddings of the time, head to Mercato Mayfair, to see original archival footage of the wedding of the Earl of Harewood (Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin) to Marion Stein.
The home of the Bridgerton family, Grosvenor Square, is also included in the tour. Visitors can hear tales of London’s 18th century elite, who brought their entire households to the townhouses of the square for the social season.
Mayfair’s shops and restaurants are also offering visitors on the tour a number of offers and experiences such as meal deals, discounts, and complimentary champagne for shoppers.

Mayfair has such a rich and glamorous history and this project will really allow visitors to plunge into a nostalgic world of balls, fabulous parties and high society weddings, while also letting them make the most of Mayfair’s fun and fashionable present scene.”
