Chanel has enlisted American actress and Chanel ambassador Kristen Stewart to front its spring/summer 2023 campaign.
Shot by Dutch photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the French fashion house say of the new editorial: “A daring attitude – in a black and white Paris backdrop, Kristen Stewart is the muse of the Chanel spring-summer 2023 ready-to-wear collection campaign, embodying a sophisticated yet natural allure.”
With Artistic Director of Chanel’s fashion collections, Virginie Viard adding: “Kristen Stewart is the person who reminds me most of Gabrielle Chanel. [Stewart] has a very special relationship with the House. When I first met her in 2013, it was instant… she understands Chanel clothing so well.”
Presented predominately in black and white, the new collection pays homage to CHANEL classics with new modern alterations.
The iconic tweed suit is revisited in new proportions (combining a short jacket with a low-waisted pencil skirt in raspberry pink tweed), whilst thigh-high boots in fishnet and patent leather are adorned with bows offering a new variation on the two-tone shoes.
The Spring-Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection is available in boutiques now.
