Slay on Every Zoom Call with These Four Simple Looks

Waking up at 8:45am and rolling out of bed for your Monday morning Zoom meeting is the new norm with many thanks to Covid-19. So with only 15 minutes to spare, we know you’ll barely have time to make yourself a cup of coffee, let alone paint a full face of makeup! We’ve put together some of our makeup maestros’ favourite, quick and easy makeup looks to keep you looking fresh faced and ready for the day in under 15 minutes.

The Fluffy Brow

This new trend has really hit the ground running, and we think this one will be around for a long time. It’s fair to say the fluffy brow has been a hit across the world. Mastering the art of a fluffy brow isn’t as hard as it may seem, and we’ll have you looking like a pro in no time with the following steps.

1. We like to start our brows with a clean base, so ensuring your face is free of any makeup or oil-based products may help your brows to stay put all day

2. Choose a brow soap or similar product and begin your magic, you will need to rub your spoolie into your product and begin to brush through your brows in an upwards direction and into your desired shape, you will need to do this until you feel the product begin to harden.

3. Once you have achieved the shape you’re looking for, you can then decide whether you want to fill in any unwanted space with a pomade or, if you are short of time, you can just leave your new fluffed up brows au natural.

The ‘No Makeup’ Makeup Look

Trying to achieve a makeup look that appears like you’re wearing no makeup at all? Of course, we have some simple steps to help you achieve this minimalistic makeup dream.

1. Skin care first, one of the most crucial steps has got to be your base This look is all about glowly, natural skin and nothing screams that more than a fresh face. So before you delve into this makeup look, invest in some skincare that suits your lifestyle and complexion.

2. Conceal and cover, the trick to covering all of your weekend sins is to conceal the right areas. Using your favourite liquid concealer, begin to cover any redness or dark circles by using a brush or your fingers and blend until blurred. This isn’t as full coverage as foundation and also saves you valuable time.

3. Blush is the perfect addition to any makeup look but try using a cream blusher and dapping in with your fingers for a more natural application.

Never Late Liner

Do you find that applying a winged liner to your look always makes you late? Well, we used to too, until we found the following tips and tricks that turned our world upside down!

1. Try creating your liner look with a felt tip style liner first, this liner is more forgivable and is easier to correct mistakes. Once you have the right shape, you can then go ahead and fill in with a liquid liner for the ultimate look.

2. If you are still struggling with your liner, try using tape to get that sharp as a knife snatched look.

3. Try dotting your liner instead of making one full sweep, then join together for a perfectly straight line. The best kind of dot to dot there is.

Perfectly Pouty Lip Combo

If you want to create a fuller lip look without the hassle of overlining and filling in, we have just the trick for you.

1. Try lining the underneath of your bottom lip and your cupid’s bow with your favourite lip liner but not taking this right into the corners, this will help your lips appear more full.

2. Then fill in the rest of your lips with a nude gloss or lip balm of your choice, this gives your lips a fuller appearance without the harsh lines of lipstick.

BONUS! Lash Hack

OK, so you’ve done your makeup in super quick time and now you want to give your lashes something a little… ‘extra’!? Well, we hate to break it to you, but learning how to apply false eyelashes isn’t something that you’ll master overnight. That said, you might just want to try magnetic lashes – clip on, clip off. There’s still a bit of a knack to them, but they’re a lot easier to work with than strip lashes and gloopy glue.

So there you have it, four of the best and most simple makeup looks to have you looking Zoom call ready in under 15 minutes. And a little something extra for your lashes too, if you’re feeling that way inclined. You might even have time for that cuppa after all!
