Feeling a bit stressed out by city life? Luckily there is no shortage of yoga studios in the capital to help you stretch, breathe, and re-balance.

Whether you’re looking for a gentle pregnancy workout or you’re a serious yogi hoping to deepen your practice, there is something for everyone in our selection of the best London yoga studios:

1. Yotopia

Yotopia has two studios in Covent Garden and offers a wide range of different types of yoga including hot yoga, Ashtanga, Yin, Vinyasa Flow and Mysore. Both studios are modern and bright and candles and incense are used during evening classes.

Mats are available free of charge and the showers include complimentary shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. Yoga clothing and hot yoga towels can also be rented for your class.

Drop-in price for a single class is £16 and there are various good-value packages available.

2. Good Vibes

Good Vibes yoga and Pilates studios can be found in both Covent Garden and Fitzrovia. Good Vibes offers “Glow” yoga, a type of warm yoga (rather than hot) using infrared heating and SAD lighting for mood improvement.

Body conditioning classes and personal training are also available, along with the opportunity to workout using Power Plates, which Good Vibes claim can help you to lose 50% more weight than traditional gym equipment.

Pricing starts at £16 for a single class and it’s £99 per month for unlimited yoga classes.

3. Iyengar Yoga Institute

Founded in 1984 as a dedicated teaching centre for Iyengar yoga students in London, B.K.S Iyengar himself has visited and taught classes as the studio several times. Iyengar yoga focuses on body alignment and the use of props such as blocks, bolsters and straps to allow even beginners to achieve perfect asana position.

Regular yoga lasses are suitable for students at all levels and there are specialist
classes for children, pregnant women, senior citizens, and people recovering from injuries.

Classes start from £10 per class and there are discounts for concessions and members.

4. Yoga On The Lane

East London studio, Yoga On The Lane, focuses on Vinyasa Flow yoga, with classes for all levels including pregnant women and mothers with babies. The studio has underfloor heating for maximum comfort in the winter months.

Classes are small and friendly and a community class on Wednesday mornings runs on donation basis only. A communal area with yoga library, large table and facilities for making tea adds to the family feel.

60-minute classes cost £12 for drop-ins and multi-class cards are available.

5. Triyoga

Tiyoga has four studios across London, in Camden, Chelsea, Soho and Covent Garden. Each of the studios offers different facilities – the flagship in Camden has 4 yoga studios including an infrared-heated studio, Pilates studio, Barre Studio, 6 treatment rooms, infrared sauna meditation room, café and shop selling yoga products.

Various different styles of yoga are offered, including hot yoga, and there are special pregnancy and postnatal classes. As well as yoga and Pilates, Triyoga offers a range of wellbeing treatments including acupuncture, massage, craniosacral therapy, and reflexology.

Drop-in classes cost £16 or half-price for community, kids, and meditation classes. Discounted multi-class passes and unlimited class memberships are available.

6. Globe House Yoga

Ultra-hip Globe House Yoga offers Ashtanga and Hatha yoga classes from a studio converted from an industrial warehouse in central London. Classes are taught by independent teachers and in-depth workshops run during weekends.

The studio offers mats, blocks and other props and there is a changing room but no shower facilities.

Classes start from £10 and run on afternoons only, apart from Saturday and Sunday.

7. Yoga in Daily Life

Yoga in Daily Life is a non-profit organization, aiming to provide a holistic yoga centre, serving the local community. A number of different levels of yoga are offered and there is a focus on meditation and Pranayama.

The studio is carpeted, bright, and comfortable and provides eco-friendly yoga mats made from natural materials.

Single classes cost £10 or £7 for relaxation and meditation. Multi-class passes and 12-week courses are also available.

8. Battersea Yoga

Battersea Yoga specializes in Hatha yoga, restorative yoga, and mindfulness meditation. The studio, near Battersea Park, has a rustic and rural feel, which makes for a welcome escape from city life.

As well as daily classes, special workshops are available covering mindfulness, posture, dance, and non-violent communication. Therapy and counselling sessions are also offered by a trained hypnotherapist.

Drop-in classes cost £15 and 1-12 month memberships are available to save money on regular classes.

9. East of Eden

East of Eden in Walthamstow offers yoga and Pilates classes for students of all ages and abilities. Some of the more unusual classes on offer include Jivamukti yoga, Rocket yoga, and Teen yoga.

The studio has been carefully designed with artwork to provide a peaceful oasis. Sequenced music is played in many classes to aid in breathing and body movement.

Classes start from £9 for off-peak 60-minute classes and £7 for mum and baby, teen or gentle yoga. Multi-class packs and 1-6 month memberships are also available.

10. Yoga West

The bright and spacious Yoga West studio is converted from an old factory building and offers yoga and Pilates classes for all levels, serving the areas of Chiswick, Acton, Ealing, and Shepard’s Bush.

A wide range of yoga-types are available including Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Jivamukti, slow flow and pregnancy yoga. In-depth workshops covering different types of yoga, Pilates, and meditation also run regularly.
