Umbro prepare to get ‘match-day ready’ with the second drop of their collaboration with Nigel Cabourn.
Reimagined for a contemporary consumer, the nine-piece collection joins the dots between “retro training uniforms and casualised gymwear” to deliver a range of styles which underlines Nigel Cabourn’s archive-informed design personality while “ticking today’s trend boxes”.
Taking its lead from vintage British Army recruit PT gear and the Army Gymnastic Staff of the era, the new capsule riffs on Cabourn’s military-led design expertise plus the designer’s Army Gym stores and loungewear collection.
“My first Umbro collab collection was a reference to the brand’s British sporting heritage as well as its connection with the rugby world.” Nigel Cabourn commented. “But with this second capsule I wanted to give Umbro the complete Cabourn seal of approval with a set of styles inspired by the Army Gym design personality which is so close to my heart.”
Highlights from the second Umbro x Nigel Cabourn collection include a fresh interpretation of Umbro’s iconic popover Drill Top a zip-through Tracktop in French navy cotton sateen and a selection of three short-sleeve polo shirts in dark navy, off-white, and washed army green.
