Tom Daley has unveiled part two of his first knitwear and crochet collection, 1896 from Made With Love by Tom Daley.
Following on from the launch of part one last November, the second collection drop sees Daley introduce a range of new pieces into the mix, including twisted headbands, beanies and blankets, as well as the ‘Patch it Up jumper’ – an asymmetric patchwork for adults in an oversized shape, available in matching kits for kids and pets.
For part-time knitting enthusiasts who maybe don’t have the time to commit to creating such intricate garments, Made With Love has also created a set of homeware kits, consisting of tea pot cosies (£40) and mug cosies (£25), as well as jumpers and cardigans that Daley promises even the most ‘novice of knitters’ can take on.
In addition to new kits, the 1896 Part II collection sees designs from the original collection evolved and re-imagined into fresh new looks with the Shine Bright Like A Diamond Beanie.
Sharing the thought and inspiration behind the new collection, Tom says: “When I started knitting and crocheting, it was the form of mindfulness that I needed. It gave me something to do with my hands when competing so I wasn’t focusing on the competition in between dives, and something rewarding to do at home during lockdowns to keep my mind occupied. It’s no surprise that I love fashion so being able to combine that with my love of knitting and crochet is my dream.”
“I want these kits to be for everyone. I want the most experienced crafters to be able to get stuck into a big project, and people who have never picked up a pair of needles to be able to try the hobby that I’ve loved so much over the past two years.”
