American media franchise Marvel has teamed up with aspiring designers to create a collection inspired by ‘The Avengers’ in collaboration The Prince’s Trust.
Made up of clothing, accessories and stationery, the gender-neutral collection takes inspiration from American street culture and sports, as well as the teamwork of Marvel’s superheroes.
The collaboration is part of a three-year mentoring partnership between the London-based youth charity and Marvel owners Disney to help young people break into the world of fashion and product design. Launched in spring 2021, the programme has seen participants gain vital industry experience by working with Disney designers, marketers and retail teams.
The first drop of the collection has been created by young designers Aaron Asante, Joe Orebiyi, Zahrah Sheikh, Aisha Qureshi, and Charlotte Ross, and includes sweatshirts, hoodies, backpacks, varsity jackets, beanies, T-shirts, basketball-inspired tops, as well as notebooks, pens, paperweights and a pin set.

“The Get Started in Product Design with Marvel course has brought together young people with a diverse range of skillsets and backgrounds to harness their creativity and build their confidence and self-belief. The course has also given young people invaluable mentorship and work opportunities, and some of them have now begun exciting careers in the industry.”
