Beyond Retro
Beyond Retro is one of London’s best-known vintage institutions, and for good reason. With multiple locations across the capital, they stock thousands of pieces spanning the ’60s through to the ’00s — refreshed with 2,000 new arrivals every week, so there’s always a reason to go back. The buying team tracks runway trends and street fashion up to six months in advance, then actively sources vintage to match — meaning the stock feels current even when it’s decades old. Beyond the rails, the Soho store regularly hosts pop-up events, from fashion launches to matcha bars, making it worth visiting even when you’re not actively hunting.

Rokit
Rokit is a solid bet if you’re after vintage designer and branded fashion with real range — from 1940s finds to ’00s nostalgia, with the ’80s and ’90s particularly well stocked. As well as a broad vintage edit, they carry their own label made from remnant and deadstock fabric inspired by vintage silhouettes. Three shops across London means you can usually find one nearby, whether you’re in East London or the West End.

Blackout II
Blackout II has been trading in Covent Garden for nearly three decades and is still one of the most well-stocked vintage destinations in central London. Spread across two floors, the range covers 1920s to 1980s fashion for both men and women — think glamorous costume jewellery, hats, handbags, and tailoring. The lower ground floor alone houses over 1,000 pairs of vintage shoes, which puts it in a different league for footwear hunters. Staff are knowledgeable and will help you build a full look from scratch. Hire is also available for shoots, reenactments and special occasions.

House of Vintage
This Shoreditch boutique — recommended by Vogue and The Guardian — is exactly the kind of place you go when you want something genuinely special. Every piece is carefully selected; only items in excellent condition with real character make the cut. The range spans the 1920s through to the 1990s, with menswear and womenswear both well represented. A second location opened in Broadway Market in 2021, so East London shoppers are doubly covered.

ATIKA
A short walk from House of Vintage, ATIKA occupies a 6,000 square foot Victorian warehouse across two floors — and it shows. The space is packed with vintage clothing, accessories and homeware, alongside a curated section by independent artists and designers, and the brand’s own label REMIX, made from vintage and deadstock fabrics. It’s a great spot for streetwear and unusual finds, and the sheer size means you’re unlikely to leave empty-handed.

Hunky Dory Vintage
Quality over quantity is the ethos at this long-running Brick Lane shop, and it shows in the edit. Stocking primarily 1940s to 1970s pieces sourced from France, Italy and the UK, Hunky Dory is the place to go when you want something genuinely well-made and properly vintage — not just retro adjacent. There’s also a basement level worth exploring for hidden gems. Particularly strong on knitwear, tailoring, hats and accessories for both men and women. Open every day.

Blue 17 Vintage
One of north London’s best-kept secrets, Blue 17 on Holloway Road has been going since 1994 and has built up a loyal following on the strength of its curation and prices. Spread across a ground floor and basement, the range covers Victorian through to 1990s fashion — with a particularly strong denim and Americana section. Reviews in 2025 consistently single it out as one of the best-value vintage shops in London. If vintage shopping usually feels overwhelming, the friendly and approachable staff make this one much easier to navigate. Note: closed Wednesdays.

Reign Vintage
Reign Vintage on Berwick Street is a Soho staple — well-stocked with pre-loved designer labels (Aquascutum, Moschino, Moncler) alongside a carefully handpicked selection of vintage pieces from the 1940s through to the 1980s. The owners source across Europe — Austria, Germany, Italy — which gives the stock a freshness you don’t always find in shops relying on the same American and British supply chains. Rails are colour-coordinated and styled to make putting together a complete outfit genuinely easy. Open seven days.

Paper Dress Vintage
Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney does double duty as a vintage clothing shop by day and a bar and live music venue by night. Most of the online reviews focus on the social side — but the daytime shop deserves more attention. Clothing is organised by decade, making it easy to find your era whether you’re into 1920s flapper or 1980s power dressing. There’s also a solid edit of jewellery and accessories to finish the look. Worth timing your visit around a live event if you want to make a full evening of it.
