Hunter is marking its 170th year with a Covent Garden pop-up shaped like a giant Hunter shoe box. The Hunter Boot Box opens on the East Piazza, beside the Royal Opera House, from 9 to 25 November.
Inside, visitors can explore the British brand’s heritage and craftsmanship, as well as the newer innovations behind its boots. The space was designed and built by Xquisite, taking its cue from Hunter’s visual identity and signature colours, and has been made possible with the support of Shaftesbury Estate.
What to Expect at the Hunter Covent Garden Pop-Up
With Christmas approaching, the pop-up will stock a selection of giftable Hunter pieces, from boots for winter walks to warm outerwear and stocking fillers. Across the two-and-a-half-week run, shoppers will also find exclusive products, gifts with purchase, and monogramming and personalisation.
The pop-up will be supported by Hunter’s Iconic by Nature campaign, starring Kate Moss, which will appear across Covent Garden and Leicester Square.
170 Years of Hunter

Hunter traces its roots to 1856, when the business that became Hunter began making rubber footwear in Edinburgh. Its wellington boots have since gone from farm and estate wear to festival staple, helped along by Kate Moss wearing a pair at Glastonbury in 2005. That makes her a fitting face for the anniversary campaign.
The Covent Garden opening rounds off a busy year for the brand, which has also included a collaboration with GANNI. Having started out making rubber boots, Hunter now sells footwear, outerwear, bags and accessories designed for both countryside and city.
Covent Garden has become a regular home for big fashion openings, from brand pop-ups on the Piazza to Uniqlo and Theory’s joint store.
