Best VR Experiences in London to Try Right Now

Forget the traditional night out. London’s cultural calendar has quietly been taken over by experiences you don’t just watch, but step inside. If you’re after the best VR experiences in London, the city has become a genuine testing ground for the world’s biggest immersive productions. In fact, many are now choosing London for their European or global premieres.

So whether you’re after full-body VR gaming, art you can physically walk into, or a story-led evening that beats another trip to the cinema, here’s our edit of the best VR and immersive experiences to book in London right now. That includes a trio all housed under one Camden basement.

1. Space Explorers: The ISS Experience — Eclipso, Camden

This is the newest, and arguably the most ambitious, arrival on this list. Opening 18th June at Eclipso’s Camden venue, it marks the European debut of a free-roaming VR experience inspired by the Emmy-winning series Space Explorers: The ISS Experience. It was developed with Felix & Paul Studios, PHI Studio and Infinity Experiences, in collaboration with NASA and international space agencies.

Visitors move freely through a 3D 360° recreation of the International Space Station. You’ll walk alongside real astronauts, witness spacewalks and experience the “overview effect” — the profound shift in perspective astronauts describe when seeing Earth from orbit. The production is adapted from Space Explorers: THE INFINITE, which has already welcomed more than 500,000 visitors worldwide since its 2021 premiere in Montreal.

  • Where: Basement floor, 213–219 Camden High Street, London NW1 8QR
  • When: Daily, 11am–8pm, from 18th June
  • Duration: ~35–40 minutes
  • Price: Adult £34 / Child £25 / Family Pack (2+2) £101 / Group (min. 4) £125
  • Age: 8+

2. Titanic: Echoes from the Past — Eclipso, Camden

Also running at Eclipso’s Camden venue is this free-roam VR experience, built with HTC Vive and two years of archival research. First, you dive 3,800 metres down to the Titanic wreck site. Then you travel back to 1912 and walk through recreations of the ship’s Grand Staircase, cabins and engine room, guided by the perspective of the vessel’s real onboard filmmaker, William Harbeck.

3. Colosseum: The Legendary Arena — Eclipso, Camden

Eclipso’s third Camden production drops visitors into ancient Rome through the eyes of Caius, a young Roman boy. He’s guided by Flamma, a real gladiator who fought 34 battles and won his freedom. First you walk through Rome’s markets and temples, then step into the Colosseum itself to witness the arena in full spectacle.

  • Where: Basement, 213–219 Camden High Street, London NW1 7BT
  • Duration: ~35–40 minutes
  • Age: 8+ (children 8–12 must be accompanied)
  • Note: No “soft mode” — not recommended for those prone to motion sickness, vertigo, or with heart conditions/epilepsy

4. Sandbox VR — Holborn, White City & Wandsworth

For a more physical, game-driven take on VR, Sandbox VR is the current favourite among London’s group and stag/hen crowd. Full-body motion trackers and haptic feedback suits put you and your friends inside battles against space aliens, zombie apocalypses and fantastical landscapes. Popular missions include Stranger Things: Catalyst.

5. Frameless — Marble Arch

This isn’t VR in the headset sense, but it’s unmissable on any immersive list. Frameless turns four galleries near Marble Arch into a walk-through art experience, reimagining 42 masterpieces from artists including Monet, Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Dalí through 360° projections and dynamic soundscapes. There’s also an 18+ evening format, Frameless Lates, which runs Friday and Saturday nights with a curated soundtrack from Soho Radio and drinks allowed inside the galleries.

  • Where: 6 Marble Arch, London W1H 7EJ
  • Price: From around £28–£30 for adults
  • Good for: Date nights, art lovers who want something more sensory than a gallery wall

6. Immersia XR — Waterloo Station

This is a newer format worth watching. Rather than a fixed VR booth, Immersia XR’s “XR Walking Theatre” lets visitors physically walk through stories wearing lightweight, wireless headsets. Six experiences are currently available, including Alice in Wonderland and a Moon Landing story.

  • Where: The Sidings, Waterloo Station
  • Duration: ~30 minutes per experience
  • Age: 5+ — one of the more family-friendly formats on this list

7. ABBA Voyage — Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Still one of the city’s most talked-about immersive nights out, ABBA Voyage pairs a live 10-piece band with digital “ABBAtars” of the band in their prime, staged inside a custom-built arena. It’s not VR, but it remains the benchmark for large-scale immersive entertainment in London. That’s exactly why so many international productions now see the city as the natural next stop.

  • Where: ABBA Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
  • Duration: 1hr 40min, no interval
  • Price: From £48
  • Age: 6+

Why this matters right now

London’s immersive scene has moved well past novelty headsets in shopping centres. International productions, from Secret Cinema’s world-building to Eclipso’s ISS Experience, are increasingly choosing the city for European or global premieres. As a result, the best VR experiences in London now sit alongside fashion week and gallery openings as a genuine cultural fixture. For anyone who treats a night out as a chance to be part of the story rather than just watch it, this is the list to work through this summer.

Ticket prices and opening dates are correct at the time of writing but subject to change — check each venue directly before booking.
