Alex Mattsson has partnered up with CAT Footwear for his AW13 London Collections: Men Show as part of the Redbull Catwalk Studio Project. The Colorado boots were inspired by the biker club “The Mongols” and represents a hard working ethic and real life challenges.
With creative direction from stylist Matthew Josephs, the footwear collection is inspired by multiple cultures including Post-War Gangsters and Kitsch-Americana. Even with these stylistic influences, CAT has stayed true to it’s design roots.
The all-black Colorado boots modernises the classic style work-boot through the colour way and details on the boots. The design includes a black on black logo with a mixture of black leather and suede to make up the foundations of the boot. The durable rubber sole remains in order to still be a practical and long lasting shoe. CAT’s aim for their footwear is “built to resist”, and this is shown through the Colorado boots.
