CODE41, “The people-powered watchmaker”, first launched the X41 project in March 2019 as the first crowdfunded and community-created watch in the fine watchmaking industry.

The X41 Project
The aim of the X41 project is to make fine timepieces more accessible to watch enthusiasts with a focus on quality, authenticity, and transparency.
The X41 crowdfunding project first launched in March 2019 with only 500 timepieces available. Enthusiasm for the project was so great that the crowdfunding campaign raised over 1 million Euros within the first three hours of launch.
The series has already gone through five editions, with each launch anticipated as eagerly as the first. Each piece is assembled by hand by master watchmakers.

Creating the sapphire case was no mean feat for the CODE41 team. Firstly, sapphire is much more costly than alternatives such as titanium. It is also a technical challenge to produce a case entirely from sapphire as it takes longer to shape, and each production step must be revised and perfected with zero margin for error.
Because of these challenges, only a few fine watchmaking brands offer models with a sapphire case, and these watches are the most expensive on the market.

- Two new bridge colours have been chosen by the CODE41 community: green and rainbow. CODE41 has teamed up with Swiss watch component specialist Positive Coating to ensure the highest quality of these coloured bridges.
- A translucent strap is included with the sapphire model, mirroring the clarity of the casing.
The X41 also includes a rare peripheral oscillating weight, a feature only available on the most high-end timepieces. This weight winds the watch without obscuring the movement, ensuring optimal beauty and functionality.
The watch is watertight to 10ATM, making it suitable for use up to 100m below water.
