Dr Martens launch bespoke service at Dover Street Market

Dr. Martens fans, listen up – you can now get your favourite boots made-to-measure at their newly launched Dover Street Market boutique. ‘Dr. Marten’s Bespoke’ gives customers the opportunity to design their own 1460 8-eye boot or 1461 3-eye shoe to their own specifications.

The process includes consulting with a trained sales consultant on the different types of leather, laces and linings that can be turned into your dream pair of boots. Your pickings are then sent to Northamptonshire to the Wollaston-based Dr. Martens factory for production, taking around three to four weeks to complete.

However, this service doesn’t come cheap. Expect to pay anything between £200-£700 for a bespoke pair of boots, depending on the materials used.

‘Dr. Martens Bespoke’ will remain in London until the end of the month before travelling to Beijing, Ginza, Tokyo, Paris and the USA, as well as launching online in April 2012.
