Just days after announcing her departure from footwear label Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon is said to be launching her own brand, according to WWD.
According to sources, funding for Mellon’s new label has already been put in place, but no details of a launch date have been released. She will be following in the footsteps of other fashion entrepreneurs such as Tom Ford and Tony Burch, who both left major labels to go it alone.
Mellon’s net worth is estimated to be £150 million by the Sunday Times.
