A new London-based knitwear brand, Linea Azzurro, launched in autumn with a collection of luxury Italian cashmere apparel and accessories for men and women.
The brand was founded by friends and entrepreneurs with extensive knowledge and connections in the global garment industry, enabling them to source two-ply 100% cashmere yarn from artisan factories in Italy.
The debut collection is inspired by chic Italian style with a range of V-neck, crew neck and scoop neck sweaters as well as luxurious cashmere accessories.
Linea Azzurro translates to “blue line” in Italian and came from the very first garment designed by the brand, a blue sweater with horizontal lines on the arms.
The brand was created with the intention of bridging the gap between expensive luxury cashmere and cheaper, lower quality versions found on the high street. Sweaters start at £99 for women and £129 for men, with accessories starting from £35.
The cashmere used in Linea Azzurro collections is sourced from Mongolia and processed before being shipped to Italy. The knitwear is then created with modern textile technology, meaning it is machine washable.
Co-founder Nigel Gee said, “Throughout my childhood, my father had menswear shops in central London. I was seven years old when I first visited Italy, where my love for artisan Italian craftsmanship first started. I love the Italian style principles; they take simple beautiful garments and pass them down through generations.”
