Tottenham Hotspur players including Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Harry Winks, Hugo Lloris and Lucas Moura have teamed up with former Dr Who Peter Capaldi to raise money for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
The hospice is currently facing a crisis due to the Coronavirus pandemic and is experiencing an all-time peak in demand for its services. The charity needs to raise £500,000 to recruit additional nurses and carers to meet the needs of unwell children and their families in north and central London.
The in-patient unit of the charity, The Ark, opened during the COVID crisis. The hospice also needs to visit families and care for children in their homes. Many of these children have been shielding for months due to their medical issues.
Peter Capaldi is narrating a song written to launch the fundraising campaign to the tune of The Animals Went in Two by Two. The accompanying video shows Spurs players helping out at Noah’s Ark including Harry Kane doing the ironing, Dele Alli helping out in the classroom, and Hugo Lloris opening the new building.
Peter Capaldi said about the campaign: “Noah’s Ark provides the most wonderful care for babies and children in great need. I hope with all my heart that this campaign raises the funds needed to support those relying on the charity.”
Tottenham Hotspur captain, Hugo Lloris added: “Noah’s Ark is an incredible charity and I have seen first-hand the amazing work they do for seriously unwell babies and children. We’re proud to support them and to be part of this campaign at what is a very difficult time. We encourage anyone that is able to make a small donation to please do so – it will make a huge difference to so many families in our local community.”
