Vogue World is an event designed to celebrate all things fashion and culture, claimed by organisers to be London’s answer to the iconic Met Gala!
Now in it’s second year, the immersive experience – curated by BAFTA and Olivier winning director Stephen Daldry (The Crown, Billy Elliot) – will open London Fashion Week with a one-night-only show at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Thursday, September 14th 2023.
Masterminded by the international Vogue team, headed up by Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful, celebrity guests confirmed to appear include Kate Moss, Sophie Okonedo, Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller, FKA twigs, Damian Lewis and opera singer Hongni Wu, as well as Adwoa Aboah, Vittoria Ceretti, Paloma Elsesser, Ashley Graham. Music megastar Stormzy will also take to the stage for a special performance, ahead an extravagant live runway show highlighting the season’s most “sought-after pieces” from the autumn/winter 2023 collections.
Guests in attendance will be treated to an array of “beautiful experiences” courtesy of Vogue World onsite partners Burberry, Erdem, Estée Lauder, Gucci, 16Arlington, Priya Ahluwalia, SS Daley, Pleasing, Coach, and Don Julio.
Held in New York City, the inaugural Vogue World event captivated New York’s Meatpacking District, through an impressive fashion show and lively street fair. Highlights included a guest appearance by Serena Williams, choreographer Mikhail Baryshnikov showcasing his dance skills, 112 top models marching the runway to Madonna’s “Vogue”, a Lil Nas X performance supported by the Hadid sisters, and an exciting street party.
Commenting on last years event, a spokesperson for London Mayor Sadiq Khan – who will also be present on the night – said: “Last year’s event in New York was a huge success and London will put on a fantastic showcase of our world-leading culture and creativity, featuring theatre, music, dance, opera, art and fashion. Our culture and creative industries help to drive our economy and this will be a brilliant opportunity to shine a global spotlight on some of our incredible grassroots and homegrown talent as we work towards building a better London for everyone.”
Tickets for Vogue World: London are available to purchase online now. For those unable to attend the West End event, a livestream will be available on all Vogue websites globally, ensuring everyone can stay updated on the happenings.
All net ticket proceeds will benefit performing arts organisations in London including The National Theatre, Royal Opera House, Rambert dance company and The Royal Ballet. The complete list of beneficiaries will be disclosed before the event takes place, with Wintour emphasising the critical role played by these arts organisations in “enhancing our lives and the imperative need to support them during this challenging period”.
