Spotlight on Legology founder Kate Shapland
Kate is a multi-award winning beauty journalist who has written and broadcasted on beauty for some 30 years. Years spent researching and writing about beauty with an eye on what the consumer understood and wanted – particularly in leg care – gave her a unique perspective on what was needed to meet demand.
She was frustrated by how the industry was framing cellulite, as something to be ashamed of, when it’s as natural as wrinkles but no more desirable.
“Far from being down to overeating, my research showed that cellulite is linked to the way the lymph, the body’s own waste disposal network, performs”, she reveals.
The lymph is central to Legology’s solutions, with Kate saying “the problem is, unlike your blood circulation, which runs alongside it, lymph doesn’t have a heart to pump it around your body. It relies on you to move for it to move and transport waste to lymph nodes where they’re metabolised. So being active is central to maintaining lymph health and a diet that supports elimination can also be key, alongside using the right deep drainage products”.

It’s truly surprising that there aren’t more beauty brands targeting legs, when legs are what keep us upright and moving.
Kate explains that “legs can be subject to emotional conflict as their shape and wellbeing can really impact how we feel. Legs change through life’s chapters, with cellulite, fluid retention and vascular issues often impacting to make them heavy, tired and uncomfortable”.
Kate worked with a French chemist to develop the brand’s Lymphology® Complex, which promotes lymph flow and drainage. Incorporating caffeine, lemon and butcher’s broom, this unique complex lightens heavy, tired, aching legs and refines their contours and healthy appearance of the skin.
