BRIT Award winning recording artist Billie Eilish has been unveiled as the cover star of British Vogue’s June edition.
In a new photoshoot and cover story for the beloved British fashion bible, the 19-year-old singer swaps her trademark baggy sweats and oversized shirts for a more adult, sophisticated look wearing a custom catsuit and corset by Mugler, as well as a corset dress from Alexander McQueen paired with latex gloves, suspender belt and stockings from Atsuko Kudo.
Shot by fashion photographer Craig McDean, the ultra glam editorial serves to showcase the All I Ever Wanted singer in an all together new light, as she revels in joys of embracing an all-together new style aesthetic, inspired by the mid-20th century pin-ups she tells the magazine has always loved.
“My thing is that I can do whatever I want.” Billie says of the decision to change up her look. “Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut! Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take any respect away from you.”
