Launched in 2011 by CEO & founder Katrina Lake, Stitch Fix arrived in the UK in 2019. Helping millions of people discover and buy what they love through the combined use of human expertise and data science, the company is on a mission to get everyone a highly personalised service through tech and a team of skilled stylists.
Stitch Fix doesn’t require you to subscribe to anything, which is a major plus. You can set up automatic deliveries or book a Fix on demand, so no pressure to keep on buying clothes you don’t need.
Each Fix contains five items of clothing, footwear and accessories hand-selected by your stylist, a personalised note from the stylist with expert advice, style cards that show you how to wear and pair your new pieces, and a prepaid label for returns.
To help you discover new looks, the company carries 140 exclusive, emerging and established, high street and boutique bands. From Whistles to Ted Baker, Sweaty Betty to Mango and its own exclusive brands, there really are options in every style and at every price point.
Available for men and women, Stitch Fix has womenswear options for sizes UK 6-18, and sizes S-XXL (waist 28”-38”) for men. Footwear ranges from sizes 3-8 for women and 7-12 for men. There are also petite ranges available, with brands like Mint Velvet, Tommy Hilfiger, Lee Denim or Bode on offer.

To start using Stitch Fix, take a style quiz and tell the company what you like, from your style and fit preferences to your price range. This will be your “Style Profile.”
From there, you can book a one-off Fix or set up your automatic deliveries (every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, or every three months).
A stylist will then select items based on your fit, budget and style. You will have the option to preview what’s been selected and choose what you want to receive (clothing, footwear, accessories). If you’d rather be surprised, you can skip this step.
The styling service costs £10, which is deducted from the cost of anything you buy.
Once you’ve received your five surprise items, you can try them on in the comfort of your own home. There’s no upfront cost for the items you receive. Pick and choose what you want to keep and pay online. You’ll also be able to provide feedback at checkout, which will help your stylist get to know you and tailor their selection a bit more every time. This way, every Fix will get better and you’ll consistently get pieces you love. If you love it all first time around and want to keep everything, you get 20% off your entire order.
With delivery, exchanges and returns free of charge, use the prepaid label included in your Fix to send back the items you don’t want to keep.
Whether you want to try the experience of having a stylist send you personalised outfits, enjoy trying new things or have no time and don’t like shopping, Stitch Fix makes finding new clothes super easy and affordable.
