Levi’s has teamed up with NIGO’s fashion label Human Made for its latest collaboration, that recreates some of Levi’s classic denim silhouettes in a traditional Japanese setting.
The two vintage-inspired styles – the 1944 Levi’s 501 Jeans and a Levi’s 506 Trucker Jacket – are made from denim developed in a Japanese artisan mill using traditional Levi’s manufacturing techniques.
Presented in pre-shrunk 15-ounce Japanese selvedge denim, the 506 Trucker jacket features an embroidered HUMAN MADE logo with the brand’s famous “Gears for futuristic teenagers” tag line on the back, as well as a Levi Strauss & Co. logo in stand-out Levi’s red.
The 1944 501 jeans come in 15-ounce Japans shrink-to-fit selvedge denim, and feature classic 501 details including the leather Two-Horse back patch, back pocket stitching and the Levi’s Red Tab.
Both pieces are captured in a campaign created by NIGO, where the designer is seen wearing the denim garments in the Eirakukan Kabuki Theater– the oldest Kabuki theater in Japan.
The Levi’s x HUMAN MADE 1944 501 Jean and the LEVI’S X HUMAN MADE 506 Trucker Jacket are available to purchase exclusively on the Levi’s App now.
