Champagne house Veuve Cliquot is bringing its global exhibition, Solaire Culture, to London’s Piccadilly Circus to celebrate its 250-year anniversary.
The exhibition, featuring artworks from nine contemporary female artists, has already seen huge success after debuting in Tokyo and Los Angeles last year.
Solaire Culture pays tribute to the iconic yellow Veuve Cliquot bottle label, which was created in 1876 to distinguish dry champagne from sweet in the British market.
The all-female art exhibition is inspired by the inspiring Madame Cliquot herself and was curated by Camille Morineau and designer Constance Guisset. Artists featured in the exhibition include Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, London-based artist Cece Philips, and British fashion illustrator Rosie McGuiness.
As well as the artworks on display, the exhibition features objects including a Veuve Cliquot champagne bottle recovered from an 1840s shipwreck, vintage brand posters, and a letter written and signed by Madame Cliquot. There’s also a display of bottle labels across the years, so visitors can see the evolution of the brand from the 1700s to today.
To continue the Solaire journey after the exhibition, the company has also created a map of Veuve Cliquot experiences all across the city including champagne terraces, Clicquot x Burger pairing at several restaurants, and shopping destinations for a spot of retail therapy.
The Veuve Cliquot Solaire Culture exhibition will open in London from 12th May – 6th June 2023. The entrance will be located at the corner of Piccadilly and Regent Street and admission is free.
