Gym leggings and yoga pants used to be the preserve of fitness bunnies, but these days you’re just as likely to see activewear out on the street and in the coffee shop as you are in the gym. You’ll no doubt have spotted that a whole new fashion sub-industry has sprung up around the trend of “athleisure”, worth over £7bn in the UK alone.
Athleisure blurs the boundaries between sports and casualwear – it’s clothing you can wear to the gym but that’s also stylish enough to wear out with friends.
An increasing number of brands are getting in on the act and coming out with their own athleisure collections. Leggings in particular have seen a revival, driven by Instagram trends for yoga practice and healthy lifestyles, and are now available in a variety of prints and patterns.
Here’s our round-up of the best gym leggings.
