Lady Gaga to create Christmas Workshop for Barney's New York

Lady Gaga is never one to do things in the normal way, especially when it comes to fashion. In her latest move the pop superstar is teaming up with department store Barney’ New York to create ‘Gaga’s Workshop’ – her wacky take on the traditional Santa’s workshop. The retail space will then sell limited edition gift items designed by Gaga herself and close friend/personal stylist Nicola Formichetti. It’s Christmas gone Gaga!

If you’re lucky enough to be stopping by in New York this winter, make sure you pay a visit to the Madison Avenue store, which is set to have it’s whole top floor transformed into Gaga’s Workshop. The collaboration also involves Brazilian-born installation artist Eli Sudbrack of Assume Vivid Astro Focus, who will help bring the alternative winter wonderland to life.

The gifts themselves will range from books to CDs and lipsticks to jewellery, all created in close collaboration with Barneys. Barneys’ chief executive officer Mark Lee told WWD: “Holiday is about joy, sharing and inclusiveness, and to me, Gaga really represents all of that. Her platform is so much about positivity, individuality and universality in a very today way.”

Gaga’s Workshop will be open from mid-November until 2nd January, giving you plenty of time to get your Gaga gifts. The quirky fashionista has also committed to donating 25 percent of all sales to a charity of her choice. Now that’s the Christmas spirit.
