Fresh from the launch of her latest collaboration with adidas and Arsenal FC, British fashion designer Stella McCartney is the guest on this week’s episode of the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, where she opens up to host Ruthie Rodgers about how food has influenced her work.
For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home for artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians – with celebrities including Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen all frequent visitors.
On River Cafe Table 4, British chef Ruthie sits down with her customers – who have become friends – to talk about food memories.

On the 30th episode of the podcast, McCartney shares memories of her childhood, her thoughts on ethical eating and cooking, as well as recalling details of hosting her first ever dinner party with Naomi Campbell and Donatella Versace in attendance.
Known for her stance on ‘the future is vegan’, Stella also explains her love of food, and it being an act of love and a source of creativity, adding that many of her favourite foods have inspired her work.
“One of my perfumes is inspired by Truffle,” Stella tells Rodgers. “Everything associated with truffle is so sexy and mysterious.”
